Graceville sits in the county's northwest corner, close to both the Alabama state line and the Holmes County line, in some of the most productive peanut ground in the region. Dothan, Alabama — the regional shopping and medical hub for the tri-state corner — is a short drive north.

This is a working agricultural town that grew up on cotton and peanuts, and farming still frames it. Peanuts arrived in Jackson County in the 1940s and expanded through the 1950s as the boll weevil wiped out cotton — Graceville and the northwest county became the heart of that transition, and peanuts have been the dominant crop here for over eighty years. Graceville is also home to the Baptist College of Florida, which gives the small downtown a steady institutional presence most towns this size do not have.

The draw here is genuine farm ground — open, workable fields with established agricultural infrastructure around them — plus rural homesites priced below the Marianna orbit. Buyers who commute toward Dothan or Chipley get more land per dollar here than almost anywhere with comparable access.
